They're willing to live inside of imagined
hypothesis and theories. But many religious folks insist on answers that
are always true. We love closure, resolution, clarity, or thinking that
we are people of faith. How strange that the very word faith has come
to mean its exact opposite." -- Fr. And yeah, it really is a feeling of terror that it could all fall apart--everything about my life would have changed. And I don't think I was ever specifically taught to believe certain things about the Bible or interpreting it, but because the Bible was used in church I just assumed I had to have certain beliefs. If that makes sense.Kelly J Youngbloodhttp://www.kellyjyoungblood.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23060911.post-27240910126330998102014-08-18T14:20:50.716-05:002014-08-18T14:20:50.716-05:00I know that moment well. For me, I realized that I was putting too much trust in what I made of the Bible and how I interpreted it. I had to fall back on the presence of Jesus. My pastor says either you become an atheist or a mystic. ;)Ed_Cyzewskihttp://www.edcyzewski.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23060911.post-51042069013385373932014-08-18T12:21:03.236-05:002014-08-18T12:21:03.236-05:00Same here. I cringe whenever I hear people say [versions of] "doubt is bad!" because if we have to be certain, then it really isn't faith.Kelly J Youngbloodhttp://www.kellyjyoungblood.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23060911.post-78089640262492567862014-08-18T11:41:13.229-05:002014-08-18T11:41:13.229-05:00Thanks Melinda.
