The Bible is actually one of the things that caused me to start having doubts in the first place :)

However, through it all, yes, I did talk to God about it through prayer, and that connection was what I held onto.Kelly J Youngbloodhttp://www.kellyjyoungblood.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23060911.post-29371177344506640182012-11-17T16:27:08.229-06:002012-11-17T16:27:08.229-06:00As I was reading this, alarm bells went off in my ...As I was reading this, alarm bells went off in my head. I am glad you are looking into the things you doubt, but if I was you I would be careful where I look. Many people have differing opinions on Jesus, the Bible, heaven, hell and living as a follower of Christ. I would just like to encourage you to look to the original source for your foundation to be built - look to the Word of God, He wrote it for a reason. Let His Spirit teach you, not a mere man, as many men lead people astray - the Bible warns us of these things. I would encourage you to tell God what it is you struggle with and let Him show you truly who He is as you live and spend time with Him. The Word of God is the Word of God. God cannot lie. Men can and will and do. You have got to decide whether to believe Him and what He has written for what it is - all of it or none of it, not to change what you want, add what you want and take away what you want to make it fit your human life. That just creates confusion and is not of God.Christinanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23060911.post-30097162744062643052012-04-30T10:51:29.703-05:002012-04-30T10:51:29.703-05:00That's great, Katie. They openly questioned, they admitted to confusion and doubt, they disagreed on the interpretation of things, and yet they all remained firmly rooted in that basic faith. They didn't just say, "It's okay to ask questions." They lived it. That was and is invaluable to me on my own journey.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15145777024732747573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23060911.post-40346762916787228272012-04-30T08:50:59.768-05:002012-04-30T08:50:59.768-05:00The only problem with Wright's books is that t...The only problem with Wright's books is that there are too many! I have a lot of them, but I would like to collect them all. I often read his books saying "Yes!" "Thank you for writing that!" or "I wondered about that and now you've explained it".Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10802930103300388945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23060911.post-16498104744132353482012-04-30T08:08:37.418-05:002012-04-30T08:08:37.418-05:00Oh, goodness. I resonate with this: I also stumbled my way to A New Kind of Christian at a critical time in my faith.

I've never read anything by N.T. Wright, but I keep meaning to! Thanks for the reminder to make his work a priority. I fully expect--from what you've said and what I've heard before--that I'll be blessed by his work.Anne @ Modern Mrs Darcyhttp://modernmrsdarcy.comnoreply@blogger.com
